Kenya: President Ruto oversees mausoleum handover and skills certification

President William Ruto has presided over several significant events in Kenya, including the official handover of the late Raila Odinga's mausoleum to the Odinga family. During the ceremony, Ruto credited the late former Prime Minister for influencing his approach to national development, specifically regarding the equitable distribution of projects to marginalized regions.

In a separate initiative, the government launched the first Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) graduation ceremony through the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA). This program certified 3,772 skilled workers in sectors such as construction, ICT, and automotive technology, recognizing expertise gained through practical experience rather than traditional education. To support these graduates, the government introduced the Fundi Locator App to connect skilled workers with customers.

Additionally, Senator Oburu Odinga, leader of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), issued a statement dismissing online rumors regarding his death as false propaganda. He apologized for missing the mausoleum unveiling and confirmed he is in good health. Meanwhile, at an agricultural summit in Nairobi, President Ruto emphasized the need for increased investment in Kenya's livestock sector to complement existing crop farming progress.
