President Samia Suluhu Hassan urges strategic government communication at Zanzibar seminar

President Samia Suluhu Hassan opened a two‑day seminar on July 28, 2026 at the Tunguu State House in Zanzibar for ministers, deputy ministers and permanent secretaries from the United Republic of Tanzania and the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar. She stressed that effective, timely and coordinated communication is a core leadership responsibility and a strategic tool for safeguarding national interests and building public confidence.

Samia said government information must be delivered promptly, in clear language and backed by verified statistics to avoid misinformation. She linked better communication to greater citizen participation and trust, and noted that successes in education, health, infrastructure, energy and water should be more widely shared. The President tied the message to the implementation of the National Development Vision 2050, emphasizing that about 70 % of its long‑term goals depend on private‑sector involvement and robust public outreach.
