President Sergio Mattarella heads to Siusi for summer vacation

Italian President Sergio Mattarella will spend his August holidays in the Alpine town of Siusi, arriving on 8 August with his daughter Laura and grandchildren. He will stay at Villa Ausserer, a 19th‑century residence located near the Italian Army’s Alpine troops training centre.

The visit marks the second consecutive year Mattarella has chosen Siusi, a frazione of Castelrotto in the province of Bolzano, as his summer retreat. While enjoying the natural surroundings of the Dolomites, the president will continue to monitor government dossiers remotely. The location has previously hosted other heads of state, including former President Carlo Azeglio Ciampi.
