President Tebboune dismisses anti‑corruption chief, Constantine governor
President Abdelmadjid Tebboune signed a decree ending Salima Mesrati's tenure as head of the Haute Autorité de Transparence, de Prévention et de Lutte contre la Corruption, the country's anti‑corruption watchdog. The decree appointed M’hamed Djellaoui to serve as interim president of the authority until a permanent successor is named.
In a separate decree, Tebboune removed Abdelkhalek Sayouda from his post as wali (governor) of Constantine. He named Kamal‑Eddine Kerbouche, previously the wali of Béjaïa, as the new governor of Constantine. Said Yahiaoui, secretary general of the wilaya, was tasked with interim management of Béjaïa. Both moves are part of a broader administrative reshuffle aimed at strengthening governance at the national and regional levels.
