To Lam attends 81st UN General Assembly and conducts bilateral meetings in New York
During his mission to attend the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Vietnamese General Secretary and President To Lam engaged in extensive diplomatic and bilateral activities.
To Lam held meetings with leaders from Fiji, Thailand, Australia, Ghana, Bhutan, and the Vatican, as well as the President of the UN General Assembly. These discussions focused on strengthening bilateral ties, agricultural cooperation, and multilateral coordination within ASEAN and the UN.
In a significant development for international cooperation, Vietnam secured new Country Programme Documents (2027–2031) with three major UN agencies: UNDP, UNICEF, and UNFPA. Additionally, a protocol was established with the UNODC to create a regional cybercrime prevention center for the Asia-Pacific region in Vietnam.
On the economic and health fronts, To Lam visited Pfizer in the United States, where he witnessed a cooperation agreement between Pfizer and Vietnam's VNVC. This partnership aims to enhance vaccine immunization capabilities and strengthen public health preparedness in Vietnam. To Lam also received a medal from the Foreign Policy Association, recognizing his commitment to responsible international engagement.
