President Trump calls 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act a 'yawn' and delays signing

President Donald Trump told reporters in the Oval Office that the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act is "a yawn" and far less important than the SAVE America Act, which he said is his top domestic priority. He cancelled a planned signing ceremony for the housing bill and said he will not sign it until the SAVE America Act passes, even though he expressed doubt it will clear the Senate.

The housing legislation had cleared both the House and Senate with strong bipartisan support. It would cut regulatory barriers, provide federal funding for affordable housing, and prohibit large investors from buying single‑family homes. Under the Constitution, Trump has ten days, excluding Sundays, to sign or veto the bill, with a deadline of July 10.
