President Trump waives sanctions on Russia

President Donald Trump has waived bipartisan sanctions against Russia that were signed into law last month. The decision follows other recent actions, including the approval of a Russian diesel deal and the slowing of Starlink services over Ukraine.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed concern regarding the shift in U.S. policy, stating that if the United States officially takes Russia's side, Ukraine will not be able to prevail.

Domestic political pressure is mounting as Republican candidates attempt to distance themselves from the administration's stance on Russia. Meanwhile, recent polling indicates Trump's approval rating has reached 33%, with only 18% of Americans reporting they are better off than they were a year ago.
