President Zardari emphasizes Balochistan development and climate action
President Asif Ali Zardari has called for enhanced coordination between federal and provincial governments to bolster peace, development, and public welfare in Balochistan. During a meeting with Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti, the President emphasized that the province requires special attention and adequate resources to address development needs and improve public services.
Addressing security concerns, President Zardari stated that the government aims to counter terrorism and foil efforts by foreign-backed actors to disrupt regional development. He stressed the necessity of creating a secure environment to link security efforts with economic and social progress.
In a separate environmental initiative, President Zardari reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals and international climate agreements. He launched the ‘Monsoon Tree Plantation Campaign 2026’, a national effort aiming to plant 20 million saplings across the country. The President urged citizens, particularly the youth, to participate in forest conservation and ecosystem restoration to build a more climate-resilient nation.
