President Zardari holds diplomatic meetings with Lebanese and French officials

President Asif Ali Zardari of Pakistan held separate meetings with Lebanese and French officials to discuss bilateral relations and regional stability.

During a meeting with Lebanese Interior and Municipalities Minister Ahmad Al Hajjar, President Zardari called for enhanced cooperation in internal security, law enforcement, and counter-narcotics. He expressed concern regarding instability in Lebanon and the wider Middle East, reaffirming Pakistan’s support for Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. The discussions also touched upon mutual legal assistance, extradition, and expertise sharing in disaster preparedness and humanitarian logistics.

In a separate meeting, President Zardari received French Ambassador Nicolas Galey for a farewell call. The President emphasized the importance of economic cooperation and high-level exchanges to expand ties between Pakistan and France. Ambassador Galey acknowledged Pakistan’s role in mediating the US-Iran conflict and expressed France’s recognition of the State of Palestine.
