Press Association reinstates historic name in major rebrand
PA Media has announced a major rebranding, reinstating its historic name as the Press Association. As part of this transition, its parent company, PA Media Group, will become The PA.
The move aims to leverage the organization’s 158-year heritage as the national news agency for the UK and Ireland. CEO Emily Shelley stated that the rebrand is a response to the current media landscape, where trust in news is critical and algorithms often prioritize opinion over fact. The agency intends to reassert its role as a provider of verified, independent content.
The overhaul includes a new visual identity developed by design agency Significant, a redesigned Press Association website, and a new online platform for The PA. Additionally, the Press Association Academy is relocating to a new office in Stratford, London, to support the development of future journalists.
