Preston Stout wins Mark H. McCormack Medal as top amateur
Preston Stout of Oklahoma State University has been awarded the Mark H. McCormack Medal after finishing as the top-ranked male player in the 2026 World Amateur Golf Ranking.
The Richardson, Texas native achieved the top ranking following a highly successful season that included five individual victories. His achievements include winning the NCAA Division I Individual Championship and becoming the first three-time Big 12 champion in the conference's history. Stout also earned first-team PING All-American honors and was named the Big 12 Player of the Year.
As the recipient of the medal, Stout receives exemptions into the 2027 U.S. Open at Pebble Beach Golf Links and The 155th Open at St. Andrews in Scotland.
