Preventive healthcare gains momentum amid rising chronic disease rates

A shift toward preventive healthcare is emerging as a response to rising medical costs and increasing rates of chronic disease. As many Americans face challenges accessing quality care due to expense, there is a growing trend of individuals investing in the wellness industry and lifestyle changes to manage their well-being proactively.

Data from the CDC indicates that the traditional reactive model of diagnosing and treating illness is facing significant pressure. In the United States, 2018 data showed 129 million people living with one or more chronic diseases. Furthermore, prevalence rates are rising among younger populations; as of 2023, six out of ten young adults suffer from at least one chronic condition.

Global health trends also highlight the impact of metabolic syndrome, which affects up to 31.4% of adults worldwide and is linked to various conditions such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
