Preventive medicine emphasizes regular health check-ups

Medical experts emphasize the critical role of regular health check-ups in preventing health issues and ensuring a high quality of life, even in the absence of symptoms. Dr. Yavuz Maşrabacı of the Medicana Health Group Check-Up Department notes that personalized check-up programs are decisive in the early diagnosis of chronic illnesses.

Modern preventive medicine aims to identify current health statuses before problems arise to support long-term well-being. Factors such as changing nutritional habits, tobacco and alcohol use, and intense stress can disrupt metabolic balance, potentially leading to obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases.

Health assessments should not follow a standard template but should be tailored to age groups—specifically categorized into under 40, over 40, and over 50 for adults—as well as gender and specific needs. A holistic approach is recommended, involving internal medicine, cardiology, ophthalmology, ENT, and even psychological evaluations to maintain physical and mental health.
