PRI Coahuila prepares for 2027 elections amid AI usage accusations
Diego Rodríguez Canales, the Secretary of Political Operation for the PRI in Coahuila, has signaled that the PRI is preparing for electoral competition in 2027, regardless of whether the Morena and PT parties choose to run together or separately.
During a meeting with party members in Saltillo, Rodríguez Canales criticized the Morena and PT coalitions, alleging their internal disputes are driven by a pursuit of power rather than citizen interests. He cited recent local election results in Saltillo, where he claimed the PRI received 172,000 votes compared to 93,000 for the opposing coalition, as evidence of public support for current PRI-aligned leadership.
Additionally, Rodríguez Canales accused PT legislators of hypocrisy regarding the use of artificial intelligence. He claimed that while these legislators advocate for sanctions and restrictions on digital content and AI, they simultaneously use manipulated images and videos to attack political opponents. He characterized these tactics as a way to fill a void in their own political proposals and movement visibility.
