PRI officials denounce Morena over election challenge, agriculture policy and governor's US visa alert
PRI state president and federal deputy Álex Domínguez warned that Morena's legal challenge to the Coahuila election results shows a dangerous intolerance of democratic outcomes and could affect future federal elections in 2027 and the presidential race in 2030.
National PRI leader Alejandro Moreno addressed the US Customs and Border Protection "yellow‑alert" placed on Durango governor Esteban Villegas Villarreal’s visa, saying no formal revocation has been issued and the matter is under administrative review.
PRI state committee president Cristina Ruiz Sandoval condemned Morena’s agricultural agenda, noting that Mexico’s dependence on US corn has risen to 52 % of consumption and domestic maize output has fallen, while dozens of support programmes have been cut.
Deputy Rubén Moreira requested an immediate halt to pension cuts affecting Banrural retirees after a constitutional reform eliminated “golden pensions,” calling for a transparent review and a dialogue table with authorities.
The party also announced allegations of embezzlement against the mayor of Guadalupe y Calvo, adding to a series of accusations aimed at the current administration.
