PRI honors former Yucatán Governor Víctor Cervera Pacheco

Members and leaders of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) held a commemorative ceremony in Mérida to honor the life and legacy of former Yucatán Governor Víctor Cervera Pacheco, marking 22 years since his passing.

The event, held at the Casa del Pueblo, was led by the state president of the PRI, Gaspar Quintal Parra, and attended by figures such as Senator Rolando Zapata Bello and Cervera Pacheco’s grandson, Arturo Patrón Cervera. During his remarks, Quintal Parra praised Cervera Pacheco as a leader who focused on popular and peasant causes, emphasizing his role in establishing the foundations of Yucatán’s current economic development and social peace.

Quintal Parra specifically highlighted the former governor’s management of the high-altitude port and his commitment to fiscal responsibility, noting that the state’s current infrastructure, including hospitals and universities, was built without incurring debt for future generations.
