Mexico labor leaders and business groups initiate new dialogue

Labor leaders and business organizations in Mexico are entering a new phase of dialogue to address evolving labor models, focusing on wages, productivity, and social security. National business groups, including the CCE and COPARMEX, have met with various union representatives to establish a collaborative agenda.

In Guanajuato, the Confederation of Autonomous Workers and Employees of Mexico (CATEM) has inaugurated its new state executive committee led by Gerardo Fernández González. National leader Pedro Haces Barba emphasized that modern unions should act as allies to investors rather than adversaries, noting that industrial growth requires a highly skilled workforce.

Fernández González highlighted the need for workers to prepare for technological shifts, such as automation and artificial intelligence, through increased training and education. Guanajuato Governor Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo supported the initiative, stressing the importance of labor peace and conciliation to maintain the state's attractiveness for investment.
