PRI leaders criticize resignations of Parral officials
Leaders of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) in Chihuahua have criticized the resignations of Dalila Villalobos, a trustee, and Vicencio Chávez, a councilman, from the Hidalgo del Parral municipal government.
Arturo Medina, the PRI parliamentary coordinator in the State Congress, stated that the departures do not weaken the party, which he claims is seeing growth in the southern region of the state. Medina attributed the resignations to personal ambitions rather than issues with party leadership, suggesting the former members had been seeking other political opportunities for months.
The state leadership of the PRI characterized the moves as acts of disloyalty and incongruence, noting that the party had provided both individuals with institutional support and political opportunities for decades. The party emphasized that the officials' decisions prioritize personal aspirations over the principles and commitments owed to the citizens who elected them.
