PRI sets goal to win all 38 Coahuila municipalities in 2027
The Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) in Coahuila has announced its strategic objectives for the 2027 elections, setting a goal to win all 38 municipalities in the state. State party president Carlos Robles Loustaunau emphasized that the party intends to maintain its political mobilization following recent electoral successes in local districts.
To prepare for the upcoming cycle, the PRI has established strict criteria for candidate selection. According to Robles, prospective candidates must demonstrate strong community roots, high levels of citizen acceptance, and an absolute absence of links to criminal organizations. The party aims to prioritize candidates with proven territorial work and clean reputations to ensure electoral competitiveness.
In Saltillo, Mayor Javier Díaz González expressed confidence in the party's ability to withstand challenges from Morena. He attributed the PRI's strength to the security models implemented under Governor Manolo Jiménez Salinas and the tangible results of current local administrations. Party leaders noted that recent victories in local districts serve as a foundation for their 2027 ambitions.
