PRI Sinaloa honors former Culiacán mayor Jesús Enrique Hernández Chávez
The Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) in Sinaloa held a posthumous tribute in Culiacán to honor the legacy of Jesús Enrique Hernández Chávez, widely known as “Chuquiqui”. The event, held at the PRI facilities, featured a display of photographs documenting his political career and was attended by party members, friends, family, and local citizens.
Hernández Chávez, who passed away at age 82 due to illness on August 8, served as the former municipal president of Culiacán. During the ceremony, PRI Sinaloa president César Emiliano Gerardo Lugo expressed gratitude for Hernández Chávez’s lifelong commitment to public service and his contributions to the party’s history in the state.
Party official Erika Sánchez also delivered a message, emphasizing that the tribute recognized not only his roles as a lawyer, legislator, and political leader, but also his dedication to public responsibility. The event served to recognize his impact on the political landscape of Sinaloa and to offer solidarity to his wife, Yolanda, and his children.
