PRI Sweeps Coahuila Legislative Seats, Handing Morena Defeat

In Coahuila, the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) captured all 16 local deputy seats in the recent election, delivering a decisive loss for the ruling Morena party. Voter turnout exceeded 50% of the electoral roll, a notable increase of about 10% from previous elections, and the PRI's victory margin was roughly 25 points over Morena.

Morena’s campaign, overseen by Andy López Beltrán, faced criticism for candidate selection and alleged vote‑buying. The party is expected to pursue legal avenues to contest the results. The outcome is seen as a warning for Morena in other states where opposition forces are gaining momentum.
