Price increases and service fee disputes reported in Turkey

In Diyarbakır, residents have raised concerns regarding reports that some cafes and restaurants are charging a 20 TL fee for restroom usage. This practice, which is being requested separately from food and beverage services, has prompted calls for clarification on the legal basis of such charges and increased demands for price transparency and inspections.

Simultaneously, in Van, public transportation costs have risen following a second price hike this year. After increases in intra-city minibus and bus fares, new rates have been applied to inter-district travel. Many routes have seen price increases of approximately 20 percent, affecting travel to districts such as Bahçesaray, Erciş, and Çatak.
