Pride Marches in Vitória da Conquista and Contagem Mark Milestones

Vitória da Conquista in Bahia prepared for the 5th LGBTQIA+ Pride March on 8 August 2026, featuring a trio elétrico, live music, dance performances and speeches that celebrate five years of visibility and resistance. Organisers highlighted the event’s role in defending dignity, citizenship and rights for the local LGBTQIA+ community.

In Contagem, Minas Gerais, the 20th LGBT Pride Parade took place on 2 August, under the theme “Do Silêncio ao Orgulho: Nossa Voz, Nosso Voto”. The city hosted concerts, a human‑rights tent and awarded Maria Eduarda Campos for her advocacy after being dismissed for her sexual orientation. Mayor Ricardo Faria and the municipal Human Rights Secretary reaffirmed the municipality’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.
