Pride of Poland auction faces payment issues for five horses

Two months after the Pride of Poland auction, several high-value transactions remain unpaid, casting doubt on the initial political celebration of the event's success. While government officials and the Polish People's Party (PSL) previously hailed the auction as a triumph—noting that all 16 horses were sold for a total of approximately 1 million euros—the actual revenue has not yet reached the stud farms.

Five mares have not been collected or paid for, despite auction regulations typically requiring payment within 14 days. Among the unpaid horses is Poganinka, which was sold to a buyer from Iraq for 140,000 euros, and Efidenia, sold to a Saudi Arabian client for 70,000 euros. Two other horses, Escadrilla and Peralla, were purchased by a single buyer from Latvia.

If these five transactions fail to finalize, the total auction value would drop from roughly 1.01 million euros to 705,000 euros. The Michałów Stud Farm stated that the horses have not been released due to the lack of payment. The farm attributed the delays to technical issues with one buyer's transfer and the need to dry two mares following foaling, while noting that some international clients typically pay on a delayed schedule.
