Priest Aloys Mewoli dies during Mass in Limosano

Father Aloys Mewoli, a 47-year-old priest originally from Cameroon, died suddenly on Friday, August 21, while celebrating Mass in Limosano, in the province of Campobasso, Italy.

Mewoli collapsed during the religious service and did not recover. The local mayor of Limosano, Angela Amoroso, expressed deep shock, stating his sudden passing leaves an immense void in the community and praising his pastoral ministry.

A priest since 2009, Mewoli previously served as the parish priest in Petrella Tifernina. The mayor of Petrella Tifernina, Alessandro Amoroso, remembered him as a figure of simplicity and humanity who had celebrated his first Mass in that community following his ordination in June 2009.
