Grevena priest arrested over revenge porn and domestic threat allegations
A 68-year-old priest from Grevena has been arrested following allegations of revenge porn and domestic threats made by his 43-year-old former partner from Larissa. The woman, an iconographer, reported to the Larissa Prosecutor's Office that the priest threatened to release private, nude photographs of her if she ended their relationship.
The Holy Metropolis of Grevena responded by immediately relieving the cleric of his administrative duties and appointing a replacement. During the police investigation, a mobile phone was seized, which reportedly contained photographs of the complainant.
The priest, who is married with four children and grandchildren, does not deny the existence of the relationship but denies the intent to use private material for revenge. He has raised counterclaims regarding a financial dispute, alleging the woman owes him approximately 14,000 euros related to unfulfilled icon painting commissions. He was released on the condition that he maintains no contact with the complainant while legal proceedings continue.
