Priest Józef Zborek donated entire teaching salary to school for 29 years
Mirosław Smolarek, the mayor of the Oświęcim municipality, has revealed that Father Józef Zborek, the dismissed parish priest from Grojc, donated his entire salary from teaching religion to the local school for 29 years.
According to the mayor, the funds were used discreetly to purchase teaching aids, finance student lunches, equip the teachers' lounge, and support school renovations. Smolarek described the priest as a “quiet angel” who provided regular assistance without seeking public recognition or praise.
Father Zborek was recently removed from his position following a church trial involving the mishandling of mass intentions and the destruction of a church document. The decision to remove him was upheld by the Apostolic Signatura in the Vatican. In a statement, the priest expressed obedience to the Church and apologized for any shortcomings.
