Priest Michele Lamberti dies in Grosseto

The Church of Grosseto has announced the death of priest Michele Lamberti, who passed away at the Misericordia Hospital in Grosseto. He was 57 years old.

Lamberti had been battling an illness for several months following a sudden medical emergency at the rectory in Batignano. He had previously undergone complex surgery at the Le Scotte hospital in Siena, though his prognosis remained poor.

Ordained in 2005, Lamberti served as a parish priest in Arcille for 11 years and in Batignano since October 2020. Before his religious vocation, he worked in the banking sector. He was known for his interest in ornithology and his commitment to environmental care.

A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, August 29, at 11:00 AM in the Don Zeno hall at Nomadelfia.
