Périgueux launches social support programs for families and seniors

The city of Périgueux has launched an intergenerational program titled ‘Bien grandir, bien vivre, bien vieillir’ (Grow well, live well, age well) to support residents at various life stages.

Key measures effective from the 2026 school year include a 1 euro meal for kindergarten students to promote healthy, organic, and local nutrition while assisting families. Additionally, the city is providing free baskets of fresh organic products to pregnant women from their fourth month of pregnancy until childbirth. To encourage physical activity, a sports pass will offer 25 euros in assistance per child, aged 3 to 10, for sports club registrations starting in the 2026/2027 season.
