Prijedor authorities launch traffic safety campaign for students

Authorities in Prijedor have launched a collaborative initiative to enhance traffic safety for schoolchildren ahead of the new academic year. The campaign, titled ‘Protect Children in Traffic’, is organized by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska and runs from August 17 through September 30.

Police officials, including traffic safety inspector Dragoja Crnogorac, announced increased preventive and repressive activities in school zones. These measures include monitoring vehicle speeds, checking for illegal parking, and inspecting the technical condition of vehicles used for organized student transport. Additionally, police will conduct educational lectures in schools to teach students about road safety, particularly regarding the increasing use of bicycles and scooters.

Representatives from the City Administration, the Automobile Club, the Territorial Fire and Rescue Unit, and Emergency Services participated in a public awareness event at Major Zoran Karlica Square, where they distributed educational leaflets to the community.
