Prijedor brigade commemorates Sutjeska 1971 Youth Work Action

Former members of the ‘Celuloza’ Youth Work Brigade from Prijedor are commemorating the 55th anniversary of the ‘Sutjeska 1971’ Federal Youth Work Action. During the month-long initiative from August 6 to September 6, approximately 120 brigadiers from across the former Yugoslavia worked on preparations for the opening of the Sutjeska monument at Tjentište.

Participants, including former brigadier Rajko Lekanić and commander Mladen Zorić, recalled the significance of the event. The brigade received a triple shock worker award for their achievements. The commemoration also highlighted the historical opening of the monument, which was attended by then-Yugoslav President Josip Broz Tito, who hosted the brigade members the previous evening.
