Prilep to host monumental sculpture project through art colony

The city of Prilep is set to undergo a cultural and urban transformation through the 18th Marko Cepenkov Art Colony – Dren. This year, the project places a special emphasis on the creation of monumental sculptures.

Prilep Mayor Dejan Prodanoski noted that this marks the first time in over four decades that sculptures of this scale are being organized in the city. For the first time, the Municipality of Prilep has provided direct financial support for the art colony, signaling a commitment to developing the city through culture and art alongside infrastructure.

The completed artworks are intended to be placed in public locations rather than being confined to galleries, allowing them to become part of the daily lives of residents and the modern urban landscape of the city. The project is supported by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and involves cooperation with the Tobacco Combine for space.
