Primark to launch free clothing repair workshops in Lisbon
Primark is launching its first Repair Workshops in Portugal, scheduled to debut on October 21 at its Colombo Center store in Lisbon. These free sessions aim to teach customers how to repair, personalize, and extend the lifespan of their clothing.
Led by instructors from the sewing school Maria Modista, the workshops are open to all experience levels. Participants will learn practical skills such as hand sewing, repairing garments, replacing buttons, adding pockets, embroidery, and upcycling. Attendees will receive a sewing kit, a repair guide, and a reusable cloth bag to continue practicing at home. Registration is required via Eventbrite.
The initiative is part of the Primark Cares sustainability strategy, following the success of similar programs in other European markets. The company reported that it has already conducted over 400 sessions globally, providing more than 7,000 spots for customers and employees.
