Primary school enrollment begins in Oberhausen and Haan

Municipalities in North Rhine-Westphalia are beginning the registration process for children entering primary school in the 2027/2028 academic year.

In Oberhausen, registration is scheduled from September 28 to October 2, 2026. Eligible children are generally those born between October 1, 2020, and September 30, 2021. Parents must register in person at the chosen school, providing documentation such as family records, vaccination certificates, or birth certificates for foreign nationals. Specific arrangements exist for the Barmingholten catchment area, with registration options at Moltkeschule Dinslaken in early October.

In Haan, several primary schools have announced information evenings and registration dates. Information sessions for schools including GGS Mittelhaan, GGS Gruiten, GGS Unterhaan, KGS Don-Bosco, and GGS Bollenberg will take place between late September and early October 2026. Formal registration dates for these institutions are scheduled throughout October 2026.
