Primavera do Leste health officials undergo national training for medicinal plant program

Health professionals from Primavera do Leste participated in a national training program titled ‘From Seed to Patient’ in Jardinópolis, São Paulo. The training was organized by the National Management Nucleus of the Policy and Program for Medicinal Plants and Phytotherapeutics of the Ministry of Health.

The participation is part of the implementation schedule for the ‘Farmácia Viva’ project in Primavera do Leste, which received technical and financial support from the Ministry of Health in 2024. During the five-day immersion, officials studied the entire phytotherapeutic chain, including seedling production, organic cultivation, harvesting, drying, and laboratory handling under quality control standards.

The program aims to diversify therapeutic options within the municipal health network by integrating traditional medicine and integrative practices into the Unified Health System (SUS).
