Primavera dos Museus celebrates cultural heritage and accessibility

The 20th edition of ‘Primavera dos Museus’ (Spring of Museums) is taking place from September 21 to 27, organized by the Instituto Brasileiro de Museus (Ibram). This year’s theme, ‘Museums for All People,’ focuses on increasing accessibility and addressing the physical, economic, and symbolic barriers that prevent diverse groups from engaging with cultural institutions.

In Manaus, the municipal foundation ManausCult is hosting a variety of activities including workshops, exhibitions, guided tours, and lectures. These events will be held at locations such as the Museu da Cidade de Manaus, the Centro Cultural Óscar Ramos, the Centro de Arqueologia de Manaus, and the Museu do Porto de Manaus.

The Museu Imperial is also participating with a free program featuring mediated visits to the Imperial Palace, storytelling for children, and special projects like ‘O Museu que Não se Vê,’ which offers a look at the museum’s behind-the-scenes areas. The initiative aims to promote the democratization of culture and the preservation of historical memory.
