Prime Arena unveils concept images for €190m Dublin sports complex

Prime Arena Holdings has released the first CGI renderings for the proposed €190 million Prime Arena, a multipurpose winter sports and entertainment complex planned for the Cherrywood area of Dublin, Ireland.

Designed by the global architecture firm Populous, the facility is intended to host ice hockey, tennis, and live concerts. The design features two full-sized Olympic ice rinks and an indoor arena with a 5,000-seat capacity, expandable to 8,000 standing or up to 10,500 for major events. The venue is also expected to include a high-performance training centre for elite athletes and serve as a permanent home for Dublin’s first professional ice hockey franchise.

The project has secured endorsements from the Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, Dublin Chamber, Tourism Ireland, and the Olympic Federation of Ireland. Projections suggest the arena could attract between 1.3 million and 1.5 million visitors annually, acting as a significant driver of economic activity. A formal planning application is expected to be submitted in the coming weeks.
