Prime Minister Friday leads delegation to Taiwan for 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations
Prime Minister Dr. Godwin Friday of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is leading a high-level delegation to Taiwan to commemorate the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations. The partnership, established on August 15, 1981, is being marked by an official visit that includes military honors and a scheduled audience with Taiwan's President, Dr. Lai Ching-te.
The mission maintains a significant economic focus aimed at fostering growth and job creation. Key components of the visit include an investor roundtable to connect the Vincentian delegation with prospective Taiwanese investors, as well as official engagements centered on agriculture, technology, sustainable development, and the blue economy.
Additionally, the Prime Minister will engage with the Vincentian diaspora through a luncheon featuring a keynote address and a question-and-answer session. During the Prime Minister's absence, Deputy Prime Minister Major Hon. St. Clair Leacock will serve as acting Prime Minister.
