Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute inspects development projects in Bamenda

Cameroonian Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute conducted a two-day working visit to Bamenda, the capital of the North-West Region, to inspect various development and reconstruction projects. The visit is part of the government’s efforts to rebuild the region following nearly a decade of insecurity through the Presidential Plan for the Reconstruction and Development of the North-West and South-West Regions.

During the inspection, the Prime Minister and officials, including Minister of Housing and Urban Development Célestine Ketcha Courtes, reviewed several sites funded by the government and the World Bank. Key projects included the construction of the Office of the Public Independent Conciliator, the North-West Regional Assembly building, the North-West Customs Head Office, and road projects linking Prison Junction to Avenir Market.

The visit aims to foster social cohesion and peace by establishing modern public infrastructure. Local leaders expressed support for the Prime Minister’s initiatives, noting the importance of these developments for the population in the wake of sociopolitical unrest.
