Prime Minister Modi inaugurates Arvind Limited textile unit in Varanasi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited his parliamentary constituency of Varanasi on Sunday to inaugurate a new textile manufacturing unit by Arvind Limited in the Mirzapurad region. The facility, established across approximately seven acres with an investment of roughly 100 crore rupees, is designed to produce garments including sportswear, undergarments, T-shirts, shorts, and lowers for both domestic use and export.

The new unit is expected to generate employment for over 1,000 people, with a significant focus on providing opportunities for women. Currently, approximately 300 women are undergoing training at the site to operate the facility's 300 machines.

Following the inauguration, the Prime Minister is scheduled to attend an Indian Air Force air show at Namo Ghat. The event has drawn large crowds to the riverfront, prompting extensive security measures involving the water police, NDRF, SDRF, and aerial surveillance via military helicopters. Local authorities have also implemented various traffic diversions across the city to manage the influx of spectators.
