Prime Minister Takaichi faces no‑confidence motion over Diet neglect

They criticised the government's handling of budget and legislative work and said the option of pursuing a no‑confidence resolution will be discussed.

The controversy intensified as the Prime Minister's secretary’s statement, promised for submission soon, has not yet been presented, and protests erupted in several locations. The Diet session ends on 17 July, while recent legislation on the imperial succession, AI data collection, and flag desecration was passed, adding to the political pressure on the government.
