Prime Minister Tareq Rahman arrives in New York for UN General Assembly
Prime Minister Tareq Rahman has arrived in New York to participate in the 81st UN General Assembly session. Accompanied by his wife, Dr. Zubaida Rahman, and a high-level delegation, the Prime Minister is scheduled to address the assembly on September 24. His planned speech is expected to address topics including democratic progress, the rule of law, climate change, and the Rohingya crisis.
During his visit, the Prime Minister held a bilateral meeting with World Bank President Ajay Banga to discuss Bangladesh's economic situation, energy crisis, and potential cooperation on development projects and youth entrepreneurship. Additionally, he met with UNHCR Chief Filippo Grandi to discuss the Rohingya crisis.
