Prime Minister Tarek Rahman promotes Bangladesh investment on Wall Street

Prime Minister Tarek Rahman stated that Bangladesh is open for business during a breakfast meeting with top business leaders and investors at JPMorgan's headquarters in Manhattan. The meeting took place while the Prime Minister was in New York to attend the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Drawing on his previous professional experience in the business sector, Rahman emphasized that investment requires confidence, predictability, and an environment conducive to growth. He highlighted that while investors focus on their business interests, his role is to protect the interests of the people of Bangladesh, noting that both roles share the fundamental principle of ensuring success.

Rahman identified several key sectors for potential investment, including energy, infrastructure, logistics, technology, digital services, climate finance, manufacturing, agriculture, and healthcare. He noted that while the world recognizes Bangladesh as a major manufacturing and garment hub, the country possesses broader potential driven by a population of over 180 million, a young workforce, and a strategic geographic location. The Prime Minister expressed the goal of building a one-trillion-dollar economy by 2034.
