Prime Minister Tarique Rahman provides financial aid to citizens

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has issued several rounds of financial assistance to address individual and sectoral needs in Bangladesh. Following a news report regarding a woman named Akhi who considered selling her unborn child to settle debts caused by her husband’s illness, the Prime Minister intervened. The family was invited to the Prime Minister’s Office, where they received a cheque for Tk1 lakh. Rahman also pledged to cover childbirth expenses and assist with future employment opportunities.

In a separate initiative, the Prime Minister distributed Tk12 crore in financial assistance to 38,970 sugarcane farmers in the Rajshahi region. The funds were transferred directly to beneficiaries’ mobile accounts via a digital payment system to encourage continued sugarcane cultivation. The disbursement took place during a public rally attended by various government ministers and political leaders.
