Prime Video acquires Princess Diana documentary rights

Prime Video has acquired the rights to broadcast a new three-part documentary series titled ‘Diana: Her Secret Confessions’ in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Originally produced under the title ‘Diana Unheard’ by the British production company Love Monday TV, the series features approximately five hours of secret audio recordings made by Princess Diana in 1991.

The recordings were made in conversation with her friend, Dr. James Colthurst. While excerpts were previously used in Andrew Morton’s 1992 book ‘Diana: Her True Story’ and a 2017 National Geographic documentary, this series provides access to the complete collection of audio.

In the recordings, Princess Diana discusses her relationship with her husband, now King Charles III, and Queen Camilla, as well as her sons and former Prince Andrew. Producers stated the goal of the series is to reclaim and reframe the Princess’s narrative by centering the story on her own words and intimate perspectives.
