Prime Video and Netflix boost streaming with revived 'Masters of the Universe' film and 'Little House on the Prairie' TV

The $170 million "Masters of the Universe" movie, which earned only about $114 million at the box office, was moved to Prime Video on July 22, 2026 after a disappointing theatrical run that began on June 5, 2026. The rapid shift to streaming is intended to recover part of the loss and reach a wider audience.

Netflix’s new adaptation of Laura Ingalls Wilder’s classic, titled "Little House on the Prairie," quickly became the platform’s most‑watched series, amassing over 16 million views in just 11 days and overtaking the previous thriller leader. The series’ family‑friendly appeal during the summer holidays contributed to its strong performance.
