Prime Video sets October 30 release for Apocalypse Z: New World
Prime Video has announced the release date for ‘Apocalypse Z: New World’, the sequel to the highly successful international original film ‘Apocalypse Z: The Beginning of the End’. The film is scheduled to premiere exclusively on the streaming platform on October 30, 2026, in more than 240 countries and territories. Prior to its digital release, the movie will have its festival debut on October 10 at the 59th Sitges Film Festival.
Directed by Carles Torrens and inspired by the literary universe of Manel Loureiro, the sequel expands on the post-apocalyptic setting caused by the TSJ virus. The narrative shifts to the Canary Islands, which serve as Europe’s final refuge. The plot follows a mission to the mainland to secure vital supplies, involving a character named Roberto whose true intentions remain uncertain. The film features an ensemble cast including Carlos Alcaide, Julia Martínez, Mónica López, Tamara Casellas, and Santiago Vaca Narvaja, with the return of Jose María Yazpik and Berta Vázquez.
The production aims to build upon the success of the first installment, which became one of Prime Video’s most-watched international original movies.
