Prime Video cancels Brazilian series Cangaço Novo after two seasons

Prime Video has officially confirmed the cancellation of the Brazilian series ‘Cangaço Novo’ after two seasons. The production, which was created in partnership with O2 Filmes, will not return for a third season.

Set in the sertão of Northeast Brazil, the series follows the journey of characters Ubaldo, Dinorah, and Dilvânia as they navigate family conflicts and organized crime. Filming for the production took place in Cabaceiras, Paraíba.

Lead actress Alice Carvalho expressed her emotions regarding the decision on social media, describing the experience as ‘definitely unforgettable’ and noting that while the situation is ‘sad and unbelievable,’ it remains beyond the control of the cast and crew.
