Prime Video to adapt Japanese mystery novel Rock, Paper, Landmines

Prime Video has announced the live-action drama adaptation of Yugo Aosaki’s award-winning mystery novel, ‘Rock, Paper, Landmines’. Produced by Tokyo-based The Seven and Amazon MGM Studios, the series is scheduled to premiere in more than 240 countries on November 13, 2026.

The story follows a high school girl with exceptional gaming talents who enters underground battles to protect her friend. The original novel achieved significant literary success in Japan, winning nine major awards including the Yamamoto Shugoro Prize and the Honkaku Mystery Award. The adaptation will star Nana Mori and Aju Makita.

In addition to this project, Prime Video is developing other adaptations, including a live-action version of the sci-fi romance manga ‘Please Save My Earth’, slated for 2027. The streaming service is also bringing a Brazilian adaptation of the Korean dating format ‘EXchange’, titled ‘Love Transit’, produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Formata.
