Prime Video to adapt Stephen King’s ‘Crouch End’ as UK-produced miniseries

Prime Video is developing a six-episode horror miniseries based on Stephen King’s 1980 short story, ‘Crouch End’. This project marks a milestone as the first adaptation of a King work to be produced entirely in the United Kingdom.

Set in London, the plot follows Doris Freeman, a film star who reports her husband’s mysterious disappearance to a police station. The narrative blends crime thriller elements with supernatural horror, drawing heavily on Lovecraftian influences. Inspector Ted Vetter leads the investigation as the story explores whether the disappearance is a rational crime or involves inexplicable, unsettling events in the Crouch End neighborhood.

The adaptation will be developed by Paul Tomalin and directed by Tom Shankland.
